Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, songwriter/composer David Bravo expressed an interest in music at the age of seven. Originally trained classically on the piano, David grew to love jazz and began composing his own music that he performed locally. In 1976, he moved to New York to pursue his music career further.

In 1980, he established a working relationship with Eumir Deodato. Deodato recorded 3 of David's songs on the Night Cruiser album. Since then, he's been a member of CBS recording act SHY TALK and had toured or recorded with Harry Belafonte, Jack Bruce (Cream), Debbie Harry, Bo Diddley, and Hugh Masekela. David has also collaborated with "hit" songwriters Donald Markowitz (I've Had The Time Of My Life) and Toni C (Whitney Houston's Love Will Save The Day.)

David's projects include work with collaborator Robert Held. Together they've written jingles for commercials such as Prevention Magazine and the music for the ESPN show Out of Control. They did the music score and composed various songs for the feature film Federal Hill starring Nicholas Turturro.

The film was well received at the Berlin Film Festival and received favorable reviews in magazines like PREMIERE, VARIETY, PLAYBOY, SCREEN INTERNATIONAL, THE SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER and ROLLING STONE. Trimark Pictures released the picture in December 1994. It is now on video and playing on cable TV. They also wrote the music score for the Spanish feature film "In Search of a Dream", released in October 1997 by Miravista pictures and "Hitman's Journal" starring Danny Aiello and William Forsyth, released in 2001.

David worked with Jewish singer Debbie Friedman as her Music Director/Keyboardist from 1998 till 2008. He also Produced and Arranged her CD Light These Lights.

He has also performed with other Jewish artists including Danny Maseng and PeriSmilow, and played at many Synagogues on Friday night and the High Holy Days.

He has been booking and performing with his event band West Side Sound at locations in the greater tri-state area for the last 10 years, as well as freelancing with other local bands as a keyboardist.

After many years of performance, David has decided to take his musical career to another level by branching out into the area of booking and representation of various artists/bands and DJ's he has had the pleasure of working with over the years.

It is because of this that he has decided create davidbravoentertainment, a full service music service company representing "all things music".

David Bravo is married to Rabbi Debbie Kaiz Bravo. They have two children, Samuel and Sophie.
